DIETMINDER Personal Food & Fitness Journal (A Food and Exercise Diary)

DIETMINDER Personal Food & Fitness Journal (A Food and Exercise Diary)

Product Description
The DietMinder is a deluxe food diary with plenty of room to record quantities and food counts (calories, fat, carbs, protein, etc.) of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. A special area for daily totals makes it easy to see at a glance how you are doing. Each “day” consists of two pages with space for exercise details, too. There are other helpful sections in the book such as the “Favorite Foods” listing which provides food counts on over 100 common foods and has space to add your own favorite food information. The “Goals” section of the DietMinder is also important. Here you can list your starting statistics, state your goals, and even paste a “before” picture. This is a great way to stay motivated!

The DietMinder can be used with virtually any food or fitness program. It has been proven that keeping a food journal helps people focus and stay more committed to improving their eating habits. It really works!

For my uses, the best Food/Activity log available. I’ve been using for more than 5 years. Lots of room to record food intake, supplement intake, physical activity. Two pages per day with page totals on each. Also has column you can use to write in a nutrient you want to track aside from the usual calories/carbs/fat/fiber/protein grams. I use it to track sodium intake.
There is a lot of room wasted at the front of the log for use instructions/goals/etc. & at the back for a really inadequate calorie count list. I’d like to see log refill pages for those of us who use the log on a regular basis – we don’t need the extra stuff at the front and you can get much better calorie/nutrition info online – no need for the calorie count list at the back of the log.

I’m in Love with This Journal, August 5, 2016

I can’t say enough how much I love this food journal. I’ve lost seven pounds since I started to use it.

I’d been trying to use food-tracking apps without success and finally decided to try the paper route. I like it because seeing the journal on my table top is a visual reminder that I should log my food. Also, when I used apps that automatically logged calories etc for me, I never learned how many calories/carbs etc were in each food. Since I fill in the amounts by hand in this journal, I’m starting to learn what’s what.

I’m doing a low carb diet. There’s no preprinted column to show Net Carbs, but there’s a blank column you can label however you like. I just write NC in that column and fill in my net carbs there. The columns follow the same order as food labels to make it easy to fill in:

Calories / Fat Grams / Carbs Grams/ Fiber Grams / Protein Grams / Blank Column you can Customize

There’s a daily square for filling in your weight and even the time that you weighed yourself! Small squares so you can check one off for reach glass of water you drink…if you like checking things off, you’ll enjoy using this journal. There’s are goal setting pages and graphs you can create…suffice it to say, it’s worth its price.

I’m tempted to order all the other journals by this same company but have decided to hold my horses and take it one at a time! It’s truly a pleasure to use this journal.

Excellent with almost enough slots for tracking nutritional counts. I needed to track sugar, sodium, cholesterol and potassium however and had to get creative to include it in each day. That is my only criticism. Each day asks for weight and the time you measure it; foods consumed, nutritional counts as found on most labels and the time the meal or snack was consumed. The first page has a subtotal of all nutritional counts before dinner. The second page has a area for checking up to 8 boxes for each glass (up to 8) of water you drink. Again, time is requested for dinner and evening snack. There is an area for daily totals and a small box for math calculations. Another small area asks for totals of five nutritional counts for the day including calories, fat (does not ask for saturated fats but I used the space to notate both), carbs, fiber and protein. Next is an area for physical activity throughout the day. The page ends with an area for personal notes. Amazing how much organized data they can fit on a page half the size of 8.5×11 inch paper. The cover is a sturdy material and best of all it has spiral binding. Altogether very well designed and handy. What would I change? Add four columns for counts mentioned above and perhaps a wrap around feature to the cover to make it easier to transfer it from one place to another. Placing it in and out of a briefcase or purse throughout the day takes it course on the pages. I resolved this with a rubber band to keep the cover closed. I feel this was money well spent.
