    I rarely write reviews but I am so happy about finishing this 3-day fasting – it was a huge success and yes, I’ve lost about 5 pounds!

    I started Day 1 on Saturday and it wasn’t too bad actually. There are many teas and several snacks but I actually didn’t drink all of the teas and I spaced out the food so it went fine. Day 2 (Sunday) was the challenging day for me. I really had to work at spacing everything out. Again, there were plenty of snacks and teas but because of Saturday (and eating less calories) I was hungry and afraid I would have to resort to calling dominos (which I didn’t do thank God). Today is Monday and like all of my Mondays, I was so busy at work I just didn’t think about it to be honest. I got home and raided Bag 3 and substituted the Kind bar (190 calories) for a can of hearts of palm (90 calories). So I’ve consumed less calories and I’m stuffed. And again, I’VE LOST 5 POUNDS!! This is huge for me. I’m a 49 year old mom who wants to lose 35-50 pounds and I’ve tried EVERYTHING! I even wasted 2 months at a weight loss center and took prescription phentermine 37.5 (which made me super paranoid and anxious for MONTHS after stopping it). I walk several times a week, and I’m almost a completely plant-based eater. I do parasite and heavy metals cleansing and take probiotics plus vitamins. I drink water and don’t really indulge in any one thing. This 3 day diet has inspired me to keep going (and shrunk my stomach) so I feel pretty confident that tomorrow will be another low calorie day. Speaking of which, each of these days in this package is 854 calories. That’s 854 for day 1, and 854 for day 2 and 854 for day 3. The food did not taste bad to me and in fact, gave me ideas about what to look for the next time I go grocery shopping. I admit I did not take the laxative packets on day 2 or today. (They reminded me of flavorless Metamucil – mix it with water and drink it – yucky consistency but it’s basically fiber.) When I took it on day 1, I didn’t have any bathroom or stomach issues, I honestly just forgot to take it day 2. Today I didn’t take it because I was at work. :/ Okay so that about wraps this up. I hope this helps someone out there who may be in the same boat as me – I was desperate and needed some inspiration and because of my age, it’s darn near impossible to lose even a pound, much less 5. And before I forget, I drank more water and teas than I normally do so I am not sure if it’s water weight that I’ve lost. But guess what, it doesn’t matter because I AM ON MY WAY! One last thing, there is an inspirational card included for each day which is just a nice way to start and end a day. And each day is numbered and packaged so it was fun looking in the ‘goody bag’ every morning. No guess work because it’s put together for You. You also get a small book of tips for losing weight, too – perfect size for my purse.     I’m going to do my best to provide a very thorough review of this product, pros and cons. This is because weight loss and maintaining a good weight is just plain difficult and a pain. It’s also because weight loss/maintenance has been a big issue in my life that I’ve struggled with (as it is for you or you wouldn’t be reading this or interested in this product). First, here’s a bit of information about me. Perhaps you’ll find something to identify with: I’m 68 years old, 5’3″ and (currently) weigh 125 pounds which is just right for me. I usually get a fair amount of exercise (walking) but had an injury a year ago that has made weight maintenance a bit more difficult. I have a history over much of my adult life of body/weight issues. This includes confronting anorexia (in my early 20’s and then bulimia on and off over many years). This is a whole big glob of emotional/psychological/social issues and I’ve had to work to gain insight into the whole thing. What I’ve worked into over time is maintaining good weight for a period of time but then slowly gaining 10 to as much as 25 pounds. I would avoid my feelings but then have a sudden realization that everything was getting “out of control” (clothes not fitting right, feeling unattractive, etc.) and then getting serious and working to get back down to normal. I would feel motivated and wonderful about how I felt and looked and things would go on for a while (even a year or longer) and would slowly slip back and start the “out of control” weight gain again. You’ll all recognize this as the “yo-yo” syndrome and perhaps you’ve been through it all before. I realized that I just had to narrow the parameters of the top weight limit and start to get back down to the 125 when I hit 129 or 130. I bought a scale and weigh myself daily in the morning and I started using an app called CalorieKing that I use to track my weight daily. This has helped a lot because I can’t avoid what’s happening. (Also it got me to actually start drinking 8 glasses of water a day which has helped me sleep better since it taught my bladder not to wake me up at night to go to the bathroom!) So now let’s get to this product. I was just entering a “get out of control” stage some months ago by only 5 pounds and was thinking about ordering some Nutrisystem meals because that had been helpful before. I heard a radio advertisement for FastStart and looked into it. My first impression was that it seemed kind of (ridiculously) expensive for what you were getting. I’d read some about fasting for weight control which seemed to make sense according to medical research. Because I was trying to “get control” again, I decided to order. When I received my box I could tell that everything was very carefully and thoughtfully put together to look professional and like a quality product. There was a bag for each of the 3 days of the diet. I decided NOT to open them ahead of time. Instead I wanted to be surprised each day. This was a good/great decision for me. I read most of the little book that came with the box although I was familiar with most of the material but it was good to go through it. They have carefully thought out each element of the box so don’t skip it (at least the first time you order)even if it may not seem necessary. It’s part of mental/emotional preparation to be successful. I started on a Monday morning (after a weekend when it’s always easier to feel “out of control” and when I’d be busy at work all day and the days would go by quicker. I opened my Day One bag in the morning and assessed everything in it to decide what to eat when. My difficult time is when I get home from work at 4:30 pm and later in the evening which is “stare at television and read and nosh on something mindlessly” time. I tried to pick the items for dinner which would help fill me up the most and I saved one item for a snack during the TV/reading “danger zone”. As to the items themselves, I found them to be interesting. Some I liked a lot, others were just OK. Spacing them out during the day is very important and you just have to understand when your potential problem times are. I was very motivated and I did not get hungry at all. There are teas available that will help you last between snacks and some are decaffeinated for evenings. Speaking of snacks, I noticed that one more negative review says there are “just snacks”. I think that’s what makes this product work. The items are not what I would normally eat (I try to avoid little things in packages) so to me they are each a treat. I find myself taking my time eating them which allows me to enjoy the flavors and textures (many are chewy or crunchy which helps to add to the time you can take to enjoy eating them slowly.) Also, in terms of weight loss, it works. If you follow the plan you will lose at least 3 pounds. For me, this kicks me back in gear and reminds me that I do have control, I can get it together and get back…

    After a long winter, I wanted to drop a few pounds as I was about to begin a workout regimen for the spring. I don’t really diet since I work out a lot, but I wanted to jump start my training, and I know diet is an important part of that. I also know that I hate cooking and wasn’t going to walk around with a measuring cup. So I did the 3 day fast, and it worked just like they said it would. I just ate the snacks they provide for each of the three days. No cooking, no measuring. And I won’t lie: the last night, I was pretty hungry. But I stuck with it. Other than that, it wasn’t much of a problem to stay on the diet. And I was thrilled to have dropped 3-4 pounds. With my workout regimen and good diet now, I’ve been able to keep it off, and I think the effects of intermittent fasting help. In another month or so, I’ll probably do it again to stay in shape.
